Baseball Recap: Colin Horton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead El Diamante over Mt. Whitney

The home team had won the previous three meetings between El Diamante and Mt. Whitney, and Mt. Whitney kept the tradition alive. The Miners might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Pioneers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Miners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 10-6.

El Diamante saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Horton, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI.

El Diamante has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14-1 record this season. As for Mt. Whitney, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-19.
