Basketball Recap: Alexandria Berk's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Spencer over Carver

Spencer lost against Carver back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spencer Greenwave fell 56-46 to the Carver Tigers. While the Greenwave didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 15-5 in the first quarter.

Spencer lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alexandria Berk, who went 6 for 12 en route to 12 points along with six steals and five assists. Berk has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nadra Rosser, who posted 17 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Spencer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Carver, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8.

Spencer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 87-10 victory against Kendrick on the 1st. As for Carver, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-39 loss against Hardaway on the 1st.
