Basketball Recap: Micah Allen Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Devils Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Man, Calhoun was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Van Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 55-41. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calhoun to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Allen, who posted 11 points along with seven boards and five steals. Those 11 points gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Morris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Calhoun smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Calhoun's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Van, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Calhoun will venture away from home to face off against South Harrison at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van, they will host Liberty at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
