Rutland took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks with a sharp 35-10 win. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered a 41-14 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Rutland and Champlain Valley Union will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Raiders will take on rival Burr & Burton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Champlain Valley Union is set to face off against their familiar foe Bellows Free Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
