Basketball Recap: Social Circle Redskins vs. Oglethorpe County Patriots
The Social Circle Redskins lost against the Oglethorpe County Patriots back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Social Circle lost to the Patriots at home by a decisive 60-43 margin. While losing is never fun, Social Circle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Patriots are ranked 41st).
Despite the loss, Social Circle still got an impressive performance from Zikierra Stewart, who scored 12 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stewart has scored all season. Jemeria Cost was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Social Circle has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Oglethorpe County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.
Social Circle will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. As for Oglethorpe County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
