Baseball Recap: Stanwood Gets the Win

Stanwood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Snohomish, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. Stanwood never let Snohomish get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

The result came thanks to Tanner Requa's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Skyler McLain, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Corban Forslund was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Stanwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Stanwood's record now sits at 6-0. As for Snohomish, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Stanwood will have a chance to go back-to-back against Snohomish: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
