Basketball Recap: Levelland Comes Up Short

If Levelland was riding high fresh off their 79-39 takedown of Sundown last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Levelland Lobos lost 83-58 to the Liberty Patriots on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lobos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while the Patriots are ranked 101st).

Levelland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Liberty, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Levelland will square off against Big Spring at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they will take on Estacado at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Estacado knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Liberty likes a good challenge.
