Basketball Game Preview: Concordia Mustangs vs. Lincoln Lutheran Warriors

The Concordia Mustangs will take on the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors in a tournament on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Concordia's tournament run continued when they took on Archbishop Bergan on Monday. Concordia fell 54-43 to Archbishop Bergan. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost nine in a row.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Grace Samuelson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Eliza Secrest, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 52-23 loss at the hands of Kearney Catholic. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 29 points.

Concordia's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lincoln Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.

Everything came up roses for Concordia against Lincoln Lutheran in their previous meeting on January 9th, as the squad secured a 56-22 victory. Will Concordia repeat their success, or does Lincoln Lutheran have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
