Herington falls despite big games from Tyus Becker and Mason Mortensen

The Herington Railroaders pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 87-70 fall against Canton-Galva. Herington has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Herington's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mason Mortensen, who scored 30 points, and Tyus Becker who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Mortensen hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Tristen Swarts, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Herington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Canton-Galva, their win bumped their record up to 6-7-1.
Herington will be playing at home against the at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Elyria Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches. As for Canton-Galva, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peabody-Burns is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
