Baseball Recap: Plainfield Wins Going Away Against Terre Haute South Vigo

Plainfield not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 13-3). They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Terre Haute South Vigo Braves. This was a revenge game for the Quakers: when they faced off against the Braves on Saturday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Corran McGill looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Plainfield let Ty White and Zach Rhoden run wild. White went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run, while Rhoden went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave White a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Clark Laker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Plainfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
