Baseball Recap: Borger Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Borger's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Perryton Rangers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their 12-game losing streak.

Lincoln Buchanan made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Tony Phillips was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Borger's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 8-16. As for Perryton, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-16.

Coincidentally, Borger and Perryton will both be playing Randall the next time they take the field. The Rangers will host the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
