Baseball Recap: Wallkill Wins Going Away Against Our Lady of Lourdes

Wallkill got themselves on the board against Our Lady of Lourdes on Wednesday, but Our Lady of Lourdes never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

Ryan Mayer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Wallkill is undefeated when Mayer allows three or fewer hits, but 3-6 otherwise. Mayer was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Bleichner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Collin DeAngelo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Wallkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Wallkill now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
