Basketball Recap: Makai Cohnes and Jaiden Woodson Secure Win for Riverview

There's no place like home for Riverview, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 61-53 win over the Plant City Raiders on Tuesday. For the Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 69-31 victory the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Leading Riverview to victory were Jaiden Woodson and Makai Cohnes. Woodson dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards, while Cohnes posted eight points along with seven blocks and six rebounds. Woodson has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 56% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Grady Blackmon III, who scored ten points and five assists.

Riverview was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Plant City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tavare Miller, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Hogan, who shot 56% from the field en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

The win got Riverview back to even at 2-2. As for Plant City, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Riverview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-48 loss against Freedom on the 3rd. As for Plant City, they have also already played their next game, a 57-56 victory against Robinson on the 3rd.
