Baseball Game Preview: West Point Pointers vs. Bruton Panthers

The West Point Pointers will venture away from home to square off against the Bruton Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. West Point has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for West Point after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 12-2 to Westmoreland. The Pointers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Waylon Foster made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Keefe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bruton duked it out with Warhill last Friday. The Panthers fell 8-4 to the Lions. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Panthers' highest-scoring game to date.

Bruton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West Point, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

West Point suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Bruton in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Pointers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
