Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitehaven). They put the hurt on the Memphis East Mustangs with a sharp 15-5 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Andrew Robinson and Jaylon Dodson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Robinson struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Dodson struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Whitehaven is 4-1-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise. At the plate, Robinson went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Dodson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave Dodson a new career-high.

In other batting news, Dedrick Marshall was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vondraka Steele, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Whitehaven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Memphis East only posted an OBP of .357.

The win got Whitehaven back to even at 6-6-1. As for Memphis East, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Whitehaven nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
