Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Indians vs. Oakley Plainsmen

The St. Francis Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Oakley Plainsmen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Francis lost 52-28 to Rawlins County on Friday. The Indians were down 39-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Oakley came up short against Hill City on Friday and fell 50-38. The matchup marked the Plainsmen's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

St. Francis will need focus on slowing down Manuel Mancia, one of several Oakley players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points. Mason Jackson was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

St. Francis dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Oakley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

St. Francis came up short against Oakley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 55-43. Can St. Francis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
