Baseball Recap: Moore County Beats Fayetteville for Their Third Straight Victory

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Moore County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Fayetteville Tigers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 19-13 win on April 3rd.

Peyton Martin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Moore County is 3-1 when Martin posts three or more RBI, but 10-14-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cole Taylor, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory (which was Moore County's third in a row) raised their record to 13-15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fayetteville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Moore County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fayetteville, they will take on Huntland in a tournament on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
