Basketball Game Preview: Midway Raiders vs. Fairmont Golden Tornadoes

The Midway Raiders will face off against the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midway will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, Midway didn't have too much trouble with Clinton as they won 52-38. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Dark Horses are ranked 621st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fairmont took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 68-29 victory over Red Springs. That looming 68-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Golden Tornadoes yet this season.

The win made it two in a row for Fairmont and bumps their season record up to 12-6. As for Midway, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Midway came up short against Fairmont when the teams last played back in January, falling 57-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fairmont's Xavier Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds.
