Volleyball Recap: Crested Butte Titans vs. Custer County Bobcats

Crested Butte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Custer County Bobcats. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Crested Butte was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Custer County work for it, especially in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 19-25, 27-25.

Mia O'Neil paced Crested Butte's offense, picking up 26 kills. O'Neil got some help from Mylee Clifton and her 22 assists. Finally, Hailey Huresky kept Crested Butte's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Hayden Hampton, who had 15 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Crested Butte's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Custer County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Coming up, Crested Butte will welcome Del Norte at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Custer County, they will venture away from home to challenge Calhan at 6:30 p.m. on the 10th.
