Basketball Recap: South Davidson Wildcats vs. Leadership Academy Falcons
South Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 86-43 loss at the hands of the Leadership Academy Falcons. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-29.
Leadership Academy was led to victory by Landon Burleyson and Caden Ryker. Burleyson went 11 for 23 on his way to 27 points and three steals, while Ryker went 9 of 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Those 27 points gave Burleyson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Foster, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.
South Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Leadership Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Davidson won't have much time to rest: their next match is against River Mill at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
