Basketball Recap: Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family Skates Past Families of Faith Christian Academy with Ease

Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Families of Faith Christian Academy Screaming Eagles 55-17. Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 33 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maya Krutul, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Krutul has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Elizabeth Beto was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Families of Faith Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3.

Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family will host Kankakee Trinity Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Families of Faith Christian Academy, they and Momence will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
