Softball Game Preview: Silverton Foxes vs. West Linn Lions

The Silverton Foxes will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the West Linn Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Silverton is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They came up short against Dallas on Tuesday, falling 11-4.

Zellee Herman was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Hannah Houts, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, West Linn took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Grant with a sharp 17-1 victory.

Avery Wolf made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emery Curtis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Meg Allen was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
