Softball Preview: Homer Trojans vs. Western Panthers
The Homer Trojans will square off against the Western Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Homer will be strutting in after a win while Western will be coming in after a loss.
On Friday, Homer needed a bit of extra time to put away Jonesville. They had just enough and edged out the Comets 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since March 23rd.
Rihana Canfield spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Homer let Brooklen Minix and Lani Miller run wild. Minix went 3-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Miller got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
