            Williamson and UMS-Wright Prep are an even 4-4 against one another  since December of 2016, but  not for long. The Williamson Lions will face off against the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Both come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Last Tuesday, Williamson earned  a  35-23 win over Elberta.

Perhaps the best among them was   Jarhiya Davis, who  went 7 of 15  on her way to 15  points along with six  boards and three  steals. That's the most  steals  Davis has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Shekinah Lane, who  went 5 of 6  en route to 10 points and three  steals.
 Meanwhile,  you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for UMS-Wright Prep  on Tuesday. They blew past Rain 54-28. Given the Bulldogs' advantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings  (they are ranked 102nd, while the Red Raiders are ranked 303rd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 UMS-Wright Prep pushed their record up to 14-8 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Williamson, their victory  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-8.
 Williamson skirted past UMS-Wright Prep  37-35 when the teams last played  back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williamson since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
