Volleyball Game Preview: Lemmon Cowboys vs. Ipswich Tigers

Lemmon hasn't had much luck against Ipswich recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Cowboys are taking a road trip to square off against the Tigers. Lemmon will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Lemmon will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Newell, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cowboys walked away with a 3-1 win over the Irrigators on Thursday.

Lemmon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-17, 25-11, 25-14.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ipswich challenged Northwestern Area on Thursday. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Ipswich started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-14, 25-14, 25-21.

Ipswich's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Lemmon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Lemmon came up short against Ipswich in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Cowboys avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
