Baseball Recap: Picayune Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Picayune couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Jones Mustangs on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-0 defeat on Saturday.

Brunson Stockstill was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Colt Robertson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Picayune has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-10 record this season. As for West Jones, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-11.

As of now, neither Picayune nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
