Softball Recap: Bacon Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Bacon Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Wheeler Lions on Tuesday. With that win, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Riley Stolzman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Reina Hill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Russo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The victory got Bacon Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Wheeler, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Bacon Academy will square off against Norwich RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wheeler, they are taking a road trip to challenge Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
