Soccer Game Preview: Laurel vs. West Jones

Laurel is 1-9 against West Jones since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Laurel's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Laurel had taken Hattiesburg down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matches, West Jones finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of South Jones by a score of 1-0. The loss was West Jones' first of the season.

Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for West Jones, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Laurel came up short against West Jones in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Golden Tornadoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
