Baseball Recap: Melbourne Takes a Loss

If Melbourne was riding high fresh off their 15-4 takedown of Gateway Charter on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Melbourne Bulldogs took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the IMG Academy Royal Ascenders on Tuesday.

Dominic Tamburrino was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Eddie Verbilla also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Melbourne's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for IMG Academy Royal, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Melbourne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-6 win against Treasure Coast on the 19th. As for IMG Academy Royal, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 defeat against George Jenkins on the 19th.
