Softball Recap: Kaufman Wins Going Away Against Ennis

Kaufman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ennis, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Kaufman was the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Ennis on Friday. Considering Kaufman has won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Abeni Nava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Sadie Waters was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Phiffer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Kaufman's win bumped their record up to 7-10-2. As for Ennis, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kaufman is set to square off against their familiar foe Midlothian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ennis will take on rival Crandall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
