Wilson Prep had won three straight games and Travon Usher did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Tigers breezed past the North Edgecombe Warriors to the tune of 70-0 for which the team can thank Usher, who rushed for 121 yards and one TD on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Wilson Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of David Romero-Acuna and Malicah Perry. Wilson Prep got some further help from Zalik Cannady: he picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles.
The win got Wilson Prep back to even at 5-5. As for North Edgecombe, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
