Basketball Recap: Griffith Comes Up Short

If Griffith was feeling good fresh off their 72-16 takedown of Whiting last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Griffith Panthers fell just short of the Munster Mustangs by a score of 58-56 on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the loss, Griffith still got an impressive performance from Gianni Feaster, who posted 16 points. Jakhari Mackey was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Griffith's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Munster, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Griffith will head out to challenge Hammond Morton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hammond Morton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season. As for Munster, they will head out on the road to face off against Calumet New Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calumet New Tech is on a three-game streak of home wins, Munster a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
