Basketball Game Preview: Norcom Greyhounds vs. Manor Mustangs

Norcom hasn't had much luck against Manor recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Norcom Greyhounds will face off against the Manor Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Norcom will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Norview, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Norcom claimed a resounding 56-16 victory over Norview. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Pilots are ranked 252nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Manor came tearing into Friday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Comets 54-31.

Manor's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points over those games. As for Norcom, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Norcom was taken down by Manor 74-45 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Norcom avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
