Baseball Recap: Bishop Moore Finds Playoff Glory Versus Mount Dora

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bishop Moore had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Mount Dora Hurricanes with a sharp 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

JT Costello looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

At the plate, Bishop Moore got a massive performance out of Tyler Lomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Lomas a new career-high. Jesiah Woodside was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Bishop Moore lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bishop Moore is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Dora, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

As of now, neither Bishop Moore nor the Hurricanes have any future games scheduled.
