Baseball Recap: Tri Comes Up Short

South Decatur hit Tri with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans lost 13-3 to the Cougars. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Braiden Jackson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tri's loss dropped their record down to 2-15-1. As for South Decatur, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri will face off against Union County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.56 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Decatur, they will square off against Hauser at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jets have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
