Baseball Recap: McDowell Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McDowell can now relate to. They fell just short of the Cox Mill Chargers by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

McDowell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zack Woody, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs. Woody is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-14 when he doesn't).

McDowell's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Cox Mill, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

McDowell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cox Mill, they will head out on the road to square off against Lake Norman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
