Softball Recap: Attica Comes Up Short

Attica came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Clinton Prairie Gophers, falling 16-2. The Red Ramblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gophers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Aleah Cruz was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Attica's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Clinton Prairie, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Attica will venture away from home to take on Parke Heritage at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Clinton Prairie, they will head out to challenge Tri-County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
