Volleyball Recap: Sean Spicer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chino Hills over Etiwanda

Chino Hills was the 3-2 winner over Etiwanda when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Huskies took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Thursday.

Chino Hills came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-22, 19-25, 27-25.

Chino Hills lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sean Spicer, who had 20 kills, nine digs, and one block. Spicer is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least six every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Way, who had five digs and one block.

Leading Etiwanda to victory were Gavin Herrera and Cohen Jimeno. Herrera had 12 digs and three assists, while Jimeno had 14 kills, 12 digs, and four aces. That's the most aces Jimeno has posted since back in February.

Chino Hills' loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Etiwanda, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.

Chino Hills has already played their next match (against Upland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Etiwanda also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Rancho Cucamonga.
