Baseball Game Preview: Black River Pirates vs. Loudonville Redbirds

The Black River Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Loudonville Redbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Black River's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Wednesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Black River came up short against Midview on Tuesday, falling 8-2. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly six runs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loudonville). They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Crestline on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Loudonville and bumps their season record up to 6-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Black River, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
