Basketball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Colonial Forge Eagles, falling 60-31. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Eagles are ranked 104th).

Colonial Forge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen Pierre out in front who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points. That's the most points Pierre has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Taysean Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Colonial Forge, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

Mountain View will look to defend their home court on Friday against Brooke Point at 6:30 p.m. Brooke Point will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Mountain View surely won't give up without a fight. As for Colonial Forge, they will square off against Riverbend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colonial Forge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
