Soccer Recap: River Ridge Comes Up Short

River Ridge lost against Sunlake back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The River Ridge Royal Knights came up short against the Sunlake Seahawks, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Royal Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Seahawks are ranked 18th).

This is the second loss in a row for River Ridge and nudges their season record down to 7-7-1. As for Sunlake, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0-1.

River Ridge will head out to challenge Mitchell at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sunlake, they will welcome Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunlake is on a three-game streak of home wins, Cypress Creek a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
