Baseball Game Preview: Tell City Marksmen vs. South Dearborn Knights

The Tell City Marksmen will be taking part in a tournament against the South Dearborn Knights at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Tell City hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Tell City is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 17th on Thursday. They came up short against Gibson Southern, falling 9-1.

Tell City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Schraner, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Drew Greulich also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, South Dearborn entered their tilt with Connersville on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Spartans. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.

Jackson Johnson was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Tell City's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for South Dearborn, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
