Softball Recap: Marquette Takes a Loss

The Marquette Sentinels came up short against the Boyne City Ramblers on Saturday and fell 6-2. The Sentinels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Halle Haynes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Layla Roman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Marquette's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Boyne City, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Coming up, Marquette will face off against Clare at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Sentinels will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last ten contests. As for Boyne City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cheboygan at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Considering the Ramblers have lost three straight at home and the Chiefs seven straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
