Basketball Game Preview: Kosciusko Whippets vs. East Webster Wolverines

Having just played yesterday, the Kosciusko Whippets will head out on the road to face off against the East Webster Wolverines at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Kosciusko has given up an average of 51.2 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kosciusko is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Leake Central, who was ranked 24th at the time (Kosciusko was ranked 18th). The Whippets fell just short of the Gators by a score of 76-73 on Friday. That makes it the first time this season the Whippets have let down their home crowd.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Webster). They blew past Vardaman, posting an 81-43 win.

Kosciusko's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for East Webster, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Kosciusko suffered a grim 60-40 defeat to East Webster when the teams last played back in December of 2016. Can the Whippets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
