Softball Recap: Minooka Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Minooka, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let the Bolingbrook Raiders get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Marina Hristov looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Olivia Boyd was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Jaelle Hamilton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Minooka pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bolingbrook, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Minooka will face off against Romeoville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bolingbrook, they will host Oak Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bengals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
