 Kennedy is 8-1 against Grant since March of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Kennedy Cougars will look to defend their home field  against the Grant Pacers at 4:00  p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
 Kennedy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13  runs  on Friday, they were much more limited against McClatchy  on Wednesday. They lost  10-1 to the Lions.
  K. Ogle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and seven unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in 11 consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Kennedy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  M. Fujinaga-Starks, who  went 1-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They lost  17-0 to Monterey Trail.
 Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
 Kennedy took their  win against Grant  when the teams last played  back in April by a conclusive  21-0. Will Kennedy repeat their success,  or does  Grant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
