Volleyball Recap: Plainfield East Find Success

Plainfield East's tournament run continued when they took on Gateway Legacy Christian Academy on Saturday. The Bengals came out on top against the Lions by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bengals.

Plainfield East found their leader in sophomore Elianna Aguirre, who had five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Aguirre.

Plainfield East was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Plainfield East's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Plainfield East will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plainfield South at 5:30 p.m. The Bengals are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, they will head out to take on Vashon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
