League recap: Brock breaks off league-leading run for Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon's Tristan Brock recorded the longest rushing play in 4A Wesco - North this season in his game against Lake Stevens last week. Brock ran for 72 yards on the play and finished with 86 on the day as his team defeated the Vikings.

Monroe lost to Woodinville 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Mount Vernon's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brock threw for 112 and 1 touchdown and Melvin Walser had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Brandon Hayman chipped in 192 yards. Robert Monroe helped Mount Vernon's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 14 yards.

Walser was the best receiver in the league this week as Jay Silver's team defeated Lake Stevens. Walser tallied 4 receptions for 77 yards. Monroe helped Mount Vernon's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 14 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Jacob Eason and Austin Otis, Tom Tri's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Eason is tops in the league in passing with 846 yards, while Otis has rushed for 726 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Bulldogs' Walser, with 354 yards on 20 catches.

As it stands, the Vikings are in third, while Arlington is in second.
