Harmony Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Edric Boateng and Benjamin Minton

Recap: Harmony Christian Hawks vs. Trinity Christian

The Harmony Christian Hawks pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 68-62 loss to they. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Trinity Christian: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Harmony Christian had strong showings from Benjamin Minton, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds, and Edric Boateng, who scored 27 points. Minton scored a full 46.8% of Harmony Christian's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Trinity Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Khan, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Khan's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Judah Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Harmony Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Trinity Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harmony Christian will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Non Varsity Opponent has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Trinity Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Koinonia Academy at 6:00 p.m. Koinonia Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
