Football Recap: Chester Piles Up the Points Against Sparta/Steeleville

Chester got themselves on the board against Sparta/Steeleville on Friday, but Sparta/Steeleville never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 27-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Yellowjackets had established a 21-point advantage.

Chester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trayton Peters led the charge by throwing for 151 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 40 yards. A healthy portion of Peters' aerial production (103 yards to be exact) went to Tashawn Palacio, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chester was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Chester's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sparta/Steeleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
